As a long time acne sufferer, I know what you are probably going through, the feelings of insecurity, the thoughts that "everyone is looking at me" and the wish to have a so called ' normal' complexion.

The good news is that with a little effort, applied in the right direction, most people can drastically improve their skin, and dramatically reduce the problem of Acne.

But before I show you how you can improve your skin, long term, lets talk about what Acne really is and let me blast away some 'Acne Myths', and show you why a lot you might have heard about Acne, or been told about it are little more than 'Old Wives Tales'.

What is Acne?

Acne is a medical complaint, and is nothing abnormal. The good news is that there are steps you can take to dramatically improve.

The spots that lead to the red inflamation are caused by excessive oily secretions and the bloking of skin pores by dead skin cells. This happens around tiny hair follicles and allows bacteria and yeast to multiply, causing the familliar pus-filled swelling, lesions and cysts on the skin.

Acne Myths

You may have heard some or all of these common syaings about Acne. None are true!

  • Chocolate and French Fries cause acne Research shows this is not the case and that eating fatty and greasy foods do not cause acne. (That said a good healthy diet is always recommended!)

  • Washing more often will help reduce acne This myth probably comes from the black color of the pores that form 'blackheads'. This is not dirt, but the build up of skin cells, which occur deep within the pore where they can't be washed away. What gentle cleaning can do is help unblock pores.

  • Sex or masturbation causes acne Again, another myth. There is no link between sex and acne

Now you know the truth about the problem, lets look at ways you can really use to combat it, ways that have worked for people just like you.
